K-2 Standards

 

K-2.PE.1:

Demonstrate locomotor (i.e., jumping, hopping, leaping, galloping, sliding, skipping, walking and running) and non-locomotor skills (i.e., bending, twisting, turning, balancing and stretching).

 

 

K-2.PE.2:

Demonstrate manipulative skills. (i.e., dribble a ball, throw, catch, roll a variety of objects, kick, strike and jump rope).

 

 

K-2.PE.3:

Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

 

K-2.PE.4

Identify critical elements of basic movements using movement vocabulary (i.e., step, hop, step, hop sequence, overhand, underhand and demonstrate).

 

 

K-2.PE.5

Recognize physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/ or social intentions.

 

 

K-2.PE.6

Recognize the basic physiological indicators of physical activity (i.e., sweating, increased heart rate, elevated respiration).

 

 

K-2.PE.7

Identify the basic components of health-related fitness  (e.g.,  to draw self-portraits, color muscles used for certain activities).

 

3-4th Grade Standards

 

3-4.PE.1:

Demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities (locomotor, non-locomotor, manipulative skills).

 

 

3-4.PE.2:

Demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities. (Knowledge of performing skills)

 

3-4.PE.3:

Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

 

 

3-4.PE.4

Recognize physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/ or social intentions.

 

 

3-4.PE.5

Demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior in a physical activity setting.

 

 

3-4.PE.6

Demonstrate understanding and respect for differences among people in physical activity settings

 

 

5th- 6th grade standards
