CONTENT	ACHIEVEMENT STANDARDS	PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Safety	Understand and practice welding safety.	Demonstrate safety procedures for arc, oxy-acetylene, mig and tig welding. Demonstrate proper use of equipment used for protection of personnel Demonstrate proper use and inspection of equipment used for ventilation. Demonstrate working in confined spaces properly.
Shielded Arc Welding.	Demonstrate ability in shielded metal arc welding.	Weld joints in a multiple pass flat, vertical and horizontal positions. Weld joints in a horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Weld a pad using stringer bead in the flat, vertical down, vertical up and horizontal position. Construct butt, lap, corner and T weld using three multi-pass beads. Test prepared coupons for final evaluation.
Oxy-Acetylene Welding	Demonstrate ability in oxy-acetylene gas welding.	Demonstrate ability to correctly set up the OAC equipment for neutral, carburizing, and oxidizing flame as well as related welding equipment and do basic process and equipment troubleshooting. Weld joints in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions using braze rod. Weld puddle beads, stringer beads, butt, lap, corner and T welds using filler rod. Demonstrate the ability in metal bending. Use layout and marking tools as required. Test prepared coupons for final evaluation.
Mig and Tig Welding	Demonstrate ability in gas metal and tungsten arc welding.	Set up equipment and shut down equipment for regular welding of aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel. Weld beads and joints using aluminum filler rod. Select correct type of filler metal size of electrode based on carbon steel Weld a multiple pass position joints in flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead positions. Test prepared coupons for final evaluation
